Enjoy the ease, speed, and safety of induction cooking with Summit's selection of energy efficient induction cooktops.

The SINC2B115TK13 is an ENERGY STAR certified 2-zone induction cooktop designed for use with 110-120V power sources. This unit includes a pre-installed 3-prong NEMA 5-15P plug for fast setup. This cooktop is ideal for smaller kitchen spaces, including hotel suites and studio apartments. It ships with a stainless steel trim kit that allows the cooktop to be installed in 13.38" wide openings, similar to Summit's previous SINC2B120 model. Without the trim kit, it fits common cutouts sized at 10 5/8" W x 19 5/8" D.

Smooth black glass  creates an attractive, easy-to-clean surface. The rear 1800W element is sized at 8 1/4", ideal for large cookware. The 6 1/4" 1300W front element is ideal for smaller pots and pans. This unit ships with a stainless steel trim kit that allows the cooktop to be installed in 14" wide counter cutouts. NOTE: If both elements are in use and the power exceeds 1800W, the cooktop will automatically reduce the power level of the element that is not being adjusted.

The digital touch controls are located in the front for easier accessibility, preventing users from reaching over hot burners to make adjustments. The digital display shows which elements are in use and their power setting, plus, this cooktop is equipped with a child lock which prevents unintended heating. A "stop & go" function allows you to immediately turn both zones off if needed, with the last settings resuming when reactivated.

Our SINC2B115TK13 also includes a timer function that lets you program a power level and cook time (up to 99 minutes) that can either turn the unit off when complete or serve as a visual countdown with an audible alert when the set time has been reached. Safety features include automatic shutdown, overheat protection, and overflow protection, which will temporarily disable the power if boiling liquid touches the control panel.

With its ideal size and advanced safety features, the SINC2B115TK13 is the perfect cooktop to ensure intuitive, safe cooking in various small kitchen settings.

Additional choices are available for 220V connections, including induction cooktops in white glass. Browse the full Summit line for more options.

How to season a gas grill for the first time

Unlock the Secrets of Grill Seasoning! 🔥🔧

Ever wondered what it means to season a grill? 🤔 No, it's not about sprinkling herbs and spices, but a crucial process known as 'curing.' Heating the metal grates, adding oil, and letting it cool helps protect your grill from rust and extends its life.

Why Season Your Grill Before the First Use?
When your brand-new grill hasn't met fire, neither have its grates. Seasoning is like training it for its inaugural feast. Uncoated grates, especially cast iron and carbon steel, are prone to rust without this protective process. Locking in oils not only prolongs their life but also enhances grill marks and imparts that smoky outdoor barbecue flavor we all love.

How to Season Your Grill for the First Time: 🌟

  1. Place your clean grate on the barbecue over medium heat: Clean brand-new grates or those collected dust need a quick kitchen cleanup. For used grills, a wire brush is essential.
  2. When hot, apply a small amount of oil: After 10 minutes of heating, apply oil evenly. Canola or peanut oil works best, but coconut or vegetable oil is fine. Turn the grill to high heat for 15 minutes to let the oil cure.
  3. Let the grates cool: Once the oil reaches its smoking point, turn off the barbecue, and let the grates cool. You may repeat the oiling process for a brand-new grill.
  4. Wipe away excess oil: After cooling, wipe any excess oil with a cloth or rag. Your grill is now seasoned and ready for action!

Let's break down the key differences with detailed bullet points and a helpful video link to guide you through the decision-making process.

Charcoal Grill:

Pros:

  • Flavorful Experience: Charcoal grills impart a distinct smoky flavor to your dishes, enhancing the overall taste.
  • High Heat Output: Capable of reaching high temperatures, ideal for achieving the perfect sear on meats.
  • Versatility in Fuel: Options like briquettes or lump charcoal allow for experimentation with different flavors.
  • Affordability: Charcoal grills are often more budget-friendly, making them accessible to a wide range of users.

Cons:

  • Longer Heat-Up Time: Takes more time to reach the desired cooking temperature compared to gas grills.
  • Temperature Control Challenges: Maintaining precise temperature control can be more challenging.
  • Cleanup Requirements: Disposing of ash and cleaning can be more involved.

Gas Grill:

Pros:

  • Quick Start: Gas grills heat up rapidly, allowing for almost instant cooking.
  • Precise Temperature Control: Offers more accurate temperature control, suitable for various cooking styles.
  • Convenience: No need to deal with charcoal; simply turn on the gas and start cooking.
  • Ease of Cleanup: Generates less mess, with minimal ash and residue.

Cons:

  • Flavor Differences: While convenient, gas grills may not provide the same smoky flavor as charcoal.
  • Higher Initial Cost: Typically has a higher upfront cost compared to charcoal grills.
